I changed the avatar and size for the author but when i add a new entry it still has the old avatar at the larger size.  How can I change that for new posts?

Anyone use this enough to know how to change these settings and make them work?  I have changed them in the author profile but then new posts still have the default avatar at the large size.  If someone could help, that would be great - everything else seems to be pretty good with this blog add-on.
